For the past five and a half years, I’ve published the Kids Calendar website and weekly email. That’s 275+ weekly emails and over 20,000 events! I’m so thankful for this experience – the ways it has challenged me to learn and grow as a person and entrepreneur and the deep connections I’ve forged with the Lawrence community and the incredibly, caring people who run children’s and family programs for us all. In a very literal sense, the Kids Calendar changed my life, and I truly hope that it has been a valuable service for you.
However, as happens to us all over time, the direction of my life has personally shifted and I need to put my attention on new priorities. I cannot continue to publish the Kids Calendar and don’t have someone lined up to take over.
As it stands right now, the Kids Calendar’s final publication week will be March 12-19th.
This past week, I began sharing the news with some of my advertisers. And already, a common question has been whether I would be open to selling the business to someone else so that it can continue on. And the answer is a resounding yes. If you are interested or know someone who might be, please have them email me at email@example.com.
Whether the Kids Calendar closes indefinitely or is passed along to a new publisher, I want to give my profound thank you to you, my readers, for opening the email each week, for submitting events to the website, for coming to the Kids Summer Fun Fair each spring, for sharing this service with all of your friends. For helping the Kids Calendar become. Lawrence is an incredibly special place to live. It’s been a pleasure highlighting and sharing the best of it with you each week. Thank you!
All of my best,
Chief Curator of Fun
